3/4 to 1 cup sugar
1/4 cup plain flour
1/2 tsp almond flavoring
3 1/2 cups canned cherries (drain but save the juice)
1/2 stick butter (melted)
9 inch unbaked pie crust with extra 9 inch pie crust for top

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Put sugar, plain flour, 1/2 cup cherry juice, and almond in a saucepan and cook until thickened. Once thickened add the drained cherries. Pour into a the pie pan. Cover pie with the top crust and crimp around the edges. Dab the top crust with melted butter. Put in oven and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until done.
