8 c day-old bread, cubed
9 eggs
2 1/4 c milk
1 3/4 c heavy whipping cream
1 c sugar
3/4 c butter, melted
3 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Carmel Sauce:
1 c sugar
1/4 c water
1 T lemon juice
2 T butter
1 c heavy whipping cream

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.

Place bread cubes in the baking dish, spread evenly over the bottom.

In a large bowl; cream together sugar and butter, add; eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour over the bread crumbs. Making sure the bread is evenly spread out and soaked in the egg mixture.

Bake uncovered for 40 minutes for until knife comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.

Sauce:
In a small saucepan; bring sugar, water and lemon juice to a boil. Reduce heat to medium; cook until sugar is dissolved and mixture turns a golden amber color. Stir in butter until melted. Add cream. Remove from heat. Serve with bread pudding.

I like to add 1 cup of raisins too. Also have topped with a Carmel sauce or whiskey, brandy sauce.
