1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cocoa
1 3/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup crisco shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup milk soured with 1 tsp vinegar
1 cup sour cream

1 can Hershey chocolate frosting

Directions:
Directions:
Make a paste with the water and cocoa and set aside. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and mix. Add soda, salt and vanilla and mix. Add flour and milk soured with vinegar a little at a time mixing after each addition. Mix in cocoa mixture and sour cream. Line the bottom of two round layer cake pans with parchment paper. Pour half the batter in each pan and bake at 350º for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cakes rest in pans for 10 minutes and run a knife around the perimeter to loosen cakes from the pan. Continue to cool for 1 hour before turning onto cake plate and frosting.
