2 c. quick cooking oats
1¾ flour
¾ tsp salt
½ tsp soda
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
½ c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp cinnamon
¾ to 1 c. strawberry preserves ( I have used blackberry as well)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the first 8 ingredients in a mixing bowl, stir until crumbly. Place 2 cups mixture to the side; press remaining mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13" pan. Spread preserves over the top, sprinkle with remaining oat mixture. Bake at 400º for 25-30minutes or until golden. Cool and cut into squares.
