Crust:
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
2 T. water

Filling:
1 cube butter
1 c. water
1 c. flour
3 eggs
1 t. vanilla or almond extract

Frosting:
1 c. powdered sugar
dash salt
1 T. milk
4 t. butter
1/8 t. vanilla

Topping:
Nuts (almonds, walnuts) or Shredded coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Crust:
Cut butter into flour adding water and mixing into a dough. It will be STICKY. Divide dough in 2 equal parts. Press onto a cookie sheet as 2 long rectangles about 3" x 14". Set aside.

Filling:
Boil water and butter in pot. Remove from heat and add flour all at once. Mix well until dough leaves sides of pot. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Add extract. Spread this paste over the two rectangles on cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 1 hour.

Frosting:
While pastry is baking make frosting by combining all ingredients. Spread over hot/warm kookies.

Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cut into 1 inch slices.
