Crust:
1 c. walnut pieces, divided
1¼ c. flour
½ c. brown sugar
½ c. butter flavored Crisco
½ c. coconut

Filling:
⅔ c. sugar
2 eggs
2 (8 ounce) bars of cream cheese
2 tsp vanilla
1 (21 ounce) can of cherry pie filling

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9x13 inch pan. Chop ½ c. nuts coarsely for topping and ½ finely for crust. Combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in Crisco until fine crumbs form. Add ½ c. finely chopped nuts and coconut. Mix well. Remove ½ c./ and reserve. Press remaining crumbs in pan and bake 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly brown. For filling, beat cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Spread over hot crust and bake for 15 minutes or until set. Spread on cherries, Combine reserved nuts and crumbs, sprinkle on top. Return to oven for 15 minutes. Chill several hours before serving.

Tasty and pretty dessert that people always seem to enjoy. I like to bring this to picnics in the summer as it is not to heavy but refreshing.
