12 cups chokecherries (or any other wild berry)
3 cups of water
6 & 1/2 cups of sugar
6 ounces of liquid pectin

Directions:
Directions:
Place the berries (fully ripened) into a large soup pot; add water. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer about 15 minutes. Strain the mixture through a bleached white sock or cheesecloth. Measure 3 full cups of the juice into a deep saucepan, add sugar, mix and bring to a boil. Add pectin and boil for 1 full minute. Remove from heat, skim off the foam and pour into hot, sterile jelly jars and seal.

My brother Eddie was the best in making Chokecherry jelly and syrup. We had always planned that I would come and help him pick berries. I actually, did one time - but we never made it again.
