1 stick salted butter, softened
One 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened and room temperature
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1). In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on medium-high speed, beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy, about 2 to 3 minutes.

2). With the mixer on low speed, add the powdered sugar a cup at a time until the frosting is smooth and creamy, Turn the mixer up to medium-high speed and beat for 2 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. Stir in the vanilla.

3). Cover and store the leftover frosting for up to 5 days in the refrigerator of for up to 3 months in the freezer. After freezing, thaw in the refrigerator then beat the frosting for a few seconds so it’s creamy again.

Cook's Note: To firm up the frosting, freeze the frosting in 3-minute increments mixing between increments until it reaches the desired consistency.
