Crust


Ingredients:

⅓ cup + 1 tbs butter (cut into cubes)
1 cup flour
½ tsp salt
2 tbs cold water

Directions:
Directions:
1) Make crust in food processor with metal blade.

2) Add butter, flour and salt to food processor bowl and begin pulsing until the butter is cut into the flour. Continue until the mixture starts coming together. If needed, add water a little at a time to bring the mixture together.

3) When the mixture has formed a ball remove from processor and roll (or press with hands into pie plate)
 

Filling


Ingredients:

⅓ cup sugar
¼ cup flour
¾ tsp cinnamon
2 tbs butter
6 medium apples (tart) peeled, cored and, sliced

Preheat oven to 400ºF

1) Peel and core apples and cut into cubes.

2) In large ziplock bag add sugar, flour, and cinnamon , close and toss to combine

3) Add apples to the bag, toss to coat with cinnamon mixture.

4 ) Add to pie crust. Top with butter cut into small pieces.

 

Topping

1 cup flour
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup very cold butter (cut into cubes)

Directions:
1) Use the food processor with the metal blade to cut the flour and brown sugar into the butter. The butter should be cut into 1 tbs pieces and then cut into 1/4 so cubes before adding to food processor.

2) Pulse the food processor gently until you get something that resembles fine pebbles

3) Spread the crumble on the top of the apple filling in the pie crust

4) Bake for 45 minutes
(Note: you may need to cover with foil for the last 15 minutes to keep from burning so keep watch)
