Nanaimo Bars Recipe

1/2 cup butter ( or substitute- coconut oil works well)
1/4 c white sugar
5 tbsp cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg lightly beaten

1 3/4 cups graham wafer crumbs (G/F * coconut flour)
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts ( almonds)
1 cup coconut

1/4 cup butter
3 tbsp milk
2 tbsp vanilla
2 tbsp.vanilla custard powder
2 cups sifted icing sugar

4 squares semi-sweet chocolates (4 oz.)
1 tbsp butter

In a double boiler combine, butter, sugar, cocoa, vanilla and egg. Stir until blended. Continue stirring while you add crumbs, coconut and nuts. Mixture will be thick.
Spread in 9" X 9" pan.

Cream butter, Add milk, vanilla, and custard powder . Stir in sifted icing sugar. Spread over base. Let stand in fridge for 15 minutes.

Melt chocolate and butter together. Spread over custard.

Refrigerate a few hours then cut into squares.
