1 (3lb) chuck roast
1 1/2 quarts water
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 chopped green pepper
1 c. chopped celery
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 c. catsup
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2-3 dashes of hot sauce

Directions:
Trim excess fat from roast. Place roast in a large dutch oven; add water, onion, green pepper, celery and garlic. Cover and cook over low heat 4 hours or until meat is tender. Drain, reserving 1 1/2 c. broth. Shred meat, and return to dutch oven.

Add reserved broth, catsup, and next 10 ingredients; stir well. Bring mixture to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes. Uncover and simmer an additional 30 minutes. Remove and discard bay leaf. Serve shredded beef on hambuger buns. Makes 12 servings.
