3½ cups All Purpose Flour
1 pkg Active Dry Yeast
1¼ cups Milk
¼ cup Sugar
¼ cup Shortening
1 tsp Salt
1 Egg

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 º. Combine 1½ cups flour and the yeast packet; heat milk, sugar, shortening and salt just till warm (115 º to 120 º) stirring constantly till shortening almost melts and then add to dry mixture; add egg. Beat at low speed of electric mixer for ½ minute, scraping bowl then beat 3 minutes at high speed. By hand stir in the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Shape into ball and place in lightly greased bowl; turn once to coat both sides. Cover and let rise in warm place till double in size; 1½ to 2 hours. Punch down; turn out on floured surface. Roll out and cut out with biscuit cutter and place on greased baking sheet; or roll into a ball place in greased muffin tins Cover and let rest in warm place till double; 30 to 45 minutes. Bake for 10 12 minutes.
