1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
Cream together and add:
1/2 cup milk
Then add:
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 cups flour

Mix together. If dough is soft, refrigerate. Roll and cut into shapes. It is a small batch so you can double or triple.

vanilla

I'm not sure if this is the exact same recipe that my Grandma Johnson made, but the frosting is, and putting the salted nuts on top is something she always did, and that came from her mother, my great Grandma Udy.
