2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 cup lard or crisco shortening
1 egg yolk
2/3 cup milk
5 - 6 apples (sliced)
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white, beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, salt and shortening as for pie crust. Mix milk and egg yolk; add to flour mixture, combine just until combined. Divide dough into 2.balls. Roll out one ball in a rectangle to fit a cookie sheet. Arrange apples on bottom crust, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll out second portion of dough and place on top of the apple layer. Beat egg white and spread on top. Bake at 400ºF for about 45 minutes until nicely browned. Drizzle with following icing while still hot.

Icing:
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
