Butterscotch Cashew Bars Recipe

1 cup plus 2 tbsp.butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp packed brown sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 3/4tsp. salt

Topping:
1 package butterscotch chips
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp. light corn syrup
3 tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tsp. water
2 1/2 cups salted cashew halves (or nuts of your choice)

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar. Add flour ans salt to creamed mixture just until combined. Press into 15 x 10 inch greased baking sheet. Bake at 350ºF for 10 - 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Meanwhile, combine butterscotch chips, syrup, butter and water in a sauce pan. Heat over medium heat until chips and butter are melted. Spread over crust. Sprinkle with nuts; press down lightly. Bake 11 -13 minutes or until topping is bubbly and lightly browned.
