Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, juice (or vanilla) and sour cream. Then add flour, salt and baking powder. Add enough flour to make a firm but soft dough. Refrigerate.

Roll dough out. Cut into 3 inch squares and fill with nuts, apricots or your favorite filling. Fold into crescents. Put on cookie and brush with beaten egg whites.

Bake approximately 15 minutes at 350º.

FILLINGS:
Nuts (ground nuts), sugar and milk. Mix to desired taste and consistency (sorry I don't have measurements).

Cottage cheese (1 container dry cottage cheese), small cream cheese, 2 egg yolks, ½ cup sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla (add more sugar if not sweet enough).

Solo Pastry Fillings has a nice selection of apricot, poppy seed and raspberry fillings.
