1 c. butter, softened
½ c. sugar
¼ t. salt
2 ½ c. flour
Colored sugar or sanding sugar, optional

Directions:
Heat oven to 325º. Beat butter in medium mixing bowl for 30 seconds. Gradually add sugar and salt, beating until well-combined. Beat in as much flour as you can, stir in remaining flour. Roll dough ¼” thick. Cut with 2-inch shaped cutter or pastry cutter. Place one-inch apart on parchment lined sheet. Prick each cookie three or four times with a fork. Sprinkle with sugar, if desired.

Bake 15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
