2 c sugar
1 c white Karo syrup
1/2 c hot water
1 tsp Anise oil
1/2 tsp food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare your pan and ingredients before starting, butter a 9 x 9 inch pan well.

Boil sugar, syrup and water together to hard crack stage, 300º.

Remove from heat and add anise oil and coloring; pour into prepared pan.

I have also used other oils, cinnamon, cloves and peppermint. I cut the amount back to 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon; these are pretty strong and hot otherwise.
