3-4 lbs ribs: pork spareribs or short ribs
1/4 c bacon dripping
salt to taste
1 1/2 c beef broth
6 peppercorns
1/4 c cider vinegar
1 carrot; diced
2 onions, chopped
1/4 tsp caraway seeds
1 bay leaf
1 small head Savoy cabbage, quartered

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the ribs in bacon drippings. Season and combine with all ingredients but the cabbage . Simmer for 1 1/2 hours, adding more broth if necessary (keep meat covered). Add cabbage quarters and continue cooking another 30 minutes, or until cabbage is tender. Cut into serving pieces and place cabbage around the edges.
