Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 c butter or margarine at room temperature
1 c confectioners sugar
2 c unsifted all purpose flour, more if needed
inch salt
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter and sugar, beat by hand or with electric mixer until completely smooth. Add flour, salt and egg. Rub and squeeze mixture through fingers until all flour has been incorporated into the mix. Scrape bowl verry well. If mix proves very moist because of the size of the egg add another 1-2 T of flour. You should have a rather dry mixture. Like cookie dough, you can squeeze it in your fist until it sticks together, so be sure to have it dry enough. Let it dry for 4 to 12 hours. Spread on cake, should be enough for an 11 by 7 inch cake and an 8 inch cake.
