Directions:
Directions:
1. cut Crisco Shortening into the 2 cups of flour. Making sure the flour looks
like tiny little peas.
2. beat egg, and add white vinegar, continue beating and add enough ice
water to equal 3/4 cup.
3. add this mixture to the pea like flour. Continue cutting with a pie cutter or

Peel and cut apples into wedges. Wash well in cold water, drain and put them in a bowl. Add cup of sugar, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of flour over top of apples. Sprinkle cinnamon over top ( I tend to use a little more cinnamon because I love it). Mix while in the bowl. Transfer apples over pie crust, and add butter pieces over top. Cover with pie crust. Flute edges. I wrap the edges with foil and bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes. Then remove foil, and continue baking for about 45 minutes.

Personal Notes:
I found this recipe on a piece of paper. It was around the time that Scott, and Melissa, were newly weds. I had the pleasure of eating Carol's apple pie. I knew I would have to get her recipe. I called her the next day and she was happy to share it with me. Years later when I found it, I knew it must be shared for Alex, and Chelsie. Hope you kids make this awesome pie, and remember always, your grandma Carol.
