2 c. cooked wild rice
1 large onion, chopped
1 cup celery, chopped
˝ cup grated carrots
1 can drained mushrooms
8 cups water
4-9 chicken bouillon cubes, depending on amount of chicken taste
1 cup flour
1 cup heavy cream or milk
1˝ sticks butter
4 skinned chicken breasts or 1+ lb. chicken

Directions:

Boil water, bouillon and chicken in kettle until chicken is cooked.

Removed chicken from kettle. Cut it off the bone and into cubes or shred. Return chicken to the broth.

In a skillet, sauté onions, celery, mushrooms and carrots in butter until tender. Sprinkle flour over sauté until well coated and mix. Mixture will be pasty. Add mixture, cooked wild rice, and cream to broth. Heat and stir, do not boil. Let simmer at least 1 hour.

One recipe fills my Dutch oven.
