Right there with roasting, steaming is one of the easiest ways to prepare veggies. Put the veggies in a microwaveable-safe container, add 2 T of water, cover the button.
Cook potatoes and sweet potatoes right on the turntable.
Microwaving veggies quickly, helps keep them to retain nutrients, too!

Asparagus, snap off tough ends, microwave 3 minutes, per pound, longer if you wish, 3 minutes they are still crunchy.....

Beets, peel, slice 1/4 “ thick, 1 pound, 10 minutes, tender and juicy...

Broccoli/cauliflower, cut into florets, 1”, 1 pound, 4 minutes, still crunchy...

Brussels sprouts, trim, halve large ones, 6 minutes...

Carrots, slice 1/2” thick, 1 pound, 3 minutes...

Green beans, trim the ends, 4 minutes...

Snow/snap peas, trim stem end, 2 minutes...

Zucchini, trim, slice 1/4” thick, 3 minutes...

Winter squash, halve, seed, 10-15 minutes....

English peas, shell, if fresh, 2 minutes...

If doing mixed veggies, I do each one separately, add together after microwaving the last veggie and cook 1 minute longer...

I add the butter at the end of cooking,mix it and add S & P, if using!
