1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, separated
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp milk
1 cup flour
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
Chocolate stars / Hershey kisses
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Mix shortening, sugar, egg yolk, milk and vanilla.
Blend flour, baking cocoa and salt. Mix into shortening mixture.
Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Roll into 1” balls
Beat egg whites slightly with fork
Dip balls into egg white then roll into nuts.
Place thumbprint in center and fill with chocolate Star or Hershey kiss.
