1 garlic clove, cut in half lengthwise
6 slices bacon, diced
¼ cup sugar
⅓ cup vinegar
1 tsp. salt
freshly ground pepper
½ cup sour cream
Enough salad greens for 4 people
( traditionally 3 kinds of greens eg.spinach, romaine, watercress, leaf lettuce)

Rub salad bowl well with garlic. Put washed and well-dried salad greens into the bowl.

Fry bacon crisp. Reserve bacon fat. Remove the bacon pieces & sprinkle over the greens. Put pan with bacon fat back on the heat & add the sugar, vinegar, salt & pepper. Stir until the sugar is thoroughly dissolved. Remove pan from heat. Add sour cream & stir. Pour over the greens & toss well.

This is NOT what you would call a healthy salad, but it is delicious & the greens still have fiber. Serve as a light main course or with a light main course.
