Dissolve 2 packages dry yeast in 1 cup warm water. Mix ⅔ cups shortening with 1 cup sugar to teaspoon salt. Add 2 cups mashed potatoes 4 eggs, 2 cups scalded milk cooled to lukewarm. Then add yeast and beat good. Add 10 to 12 cups for flour, not more than 12 cups and mix good, to not knead. Let raise until double then punch down and let raise again. Roll out ½ inch thick cut and let raise exactly ½ hour and fry in shortening then take them out and let them drain a few minutes and drop in glaze while still hot.

2 lbs powdered sugar
A little warm water
Vanilla to taste
2 tablespoons shortening
