3 eggs, well beaten
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 small package chocolate chips
2 cups chopped walnuts
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup candied cherries (sliced)

Directions:
Directions:

Combine eggs, sugar and beat well. Sift dry ingredients, add chocolate chips, nuts and fruit to dry ingredients. Fold into egg mixture. Pour into tube pan which has been well greased and paper lined.(Use brown paper bag to line pan)
Bake 1 1/2 hours in 325º oven.
Cool and then remove from pan. Wrap in soft cloth and soak in wine if you choose. Keep in air tight container.
