¼ cup softened butter
1 tablespoon bourbon whiskey (or ½ teaspoon bourbon extract)

1. Bring maple syrup and softened butter to a boil in medium saucepan.
2. Stir in 1 tablespoon bourbon whiskey or extract.
3. Serve warm over crepes or pancakes.
