2 ½ cups of sugar
4 eggs
1 cup of oil
1 qt. buttermilk
2 cups of boiling water
2 cups of Bran Flakes
5 cups of plain flour
5 t soda
1 t salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, eggs, oil, buttermilk. Add boiling water and Bran Flakes. Cool a little, then add flour, soda, salt. Stir just enough to moisten. Let stand 3 or 4 hours in the refrigerator before baking. Take out enough mixture to bake as needed. The mixture will keep well for 2 months or more. Makes 1 gallon.
