Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2½ cups whole wheat flour
1 cup wheat germ
½ cup ground flax seed
1 tbsp. honey
3 eggs
½ cup olive oil
1 cup water
½ cup applesauce
½ cup canned pumpkin

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350˚ F.

Combine the flour, wheat germ and flax seed in a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the honey, eggs, oil, water, applesauce and pumpkin. Pumpkin is a great ingredient to add to dog treats, because it aids in healthy digestion and regular bowel movements.

Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients while constantly stirring. Once all ingredients are combined, a sticky dough will form.

Drop small dough balls on a well greased cookie sheet and press them down with a fork, put the dough into a mini muffin tray, or use small silicone cookie molds.

Bake the dog cookies for about 25-30 minutes. You'll know they are done when the dough turns a nice golden brown color. Store the dog treats in an airtight container for 10-14 days. You can also freeze the treats in an airtight container if you'd like to keep them longer.
