Dutch Apple or Peach Pie Recipe

2 ½ c. sugar
½ + c. flour
scant ¼ tsp. salt
2 c. half-and-half
3-4 apples per pie or canned peaches

Directions:
Mix all ingredients except apples. Peel apples and fill pie with apples. Pour 2 cups goop in one pie. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

If making peach pie, lay slices of peaches in pie crust first and pour goop over pie. If slices are big, cut in several pieces. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake at 350º until firm and slightly brown, approximately 30-40 minutes. You can stick a sharp knife into an apple to be sure it's soft.

Grandma got this recipe from the Doughbox Bakery. It makes 2 pies or so, depends on how big your pie crusts are and how many apples you put in. She doesn't have time written down- she just watched it and shook it to be sure it was firm.
