2 cups Crisco
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 1/2 cups flour(or a little more)
4 cups old fashioned oatmeal
12 oz pkg of semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Blend Crisco and sugars. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and blend.
Add baking soda and salt and flour. Mix well. Add oatmeal and blend, then chocolate chips.
I use a scoop to portion out and bake on parchment paper for the cookie sheets.
Bake 10-12 minutes at 375º depending on how big your cookies are.

You may need to add additional flour if too wet(up to 1/4 cup)

This is grandma Teddy's recipe and I have been making it since I was twelve years old.
Also good made with mint chocolate chips or butterscotch chips.
