Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 stick salted butter (1/2 c)
2 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 1/2 t sugar
1 T baking powder
1 1/2 t salt
1 3/4 c buttermilk (don't substitute regular milk)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
2. In an 8x8 glass baking dish (you can use a bigger one, instead, otherwise they are pretty large biscuits) melt the butter in the microwave.
3. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
4. Pour in the buttermilk. Stir until it forms a loose dough. It might be a bit sticky. That's okay.
5. Pour biscuit dough into the baking dish right on top of the butter. Some of the butter will run over the top of the dough and that is perfectly fine. Spread the dough out in the pan. (I found that it's much easier to use your fingers than a spatula. It's messy, but effective.)
6. Use a knife and cut the dough into as many biscuits as you wish. This will help the cutting of the biscuits later.
7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, rotating the dish once during the baking. The biscuits should be golden brown on top and spring back to the touch.

Personal Notes:
This is my new favorite biscuit recipe to make with gravy. It's simple and there's no biscuit cutting or kneading dough.
