Almond Bars Recipe

First Layer:
½ c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter, softened
2 c. flour

Second Layer:
8 oz. cream cheese
2 eggs, lightly beaten (add last)
½ c. white sugar
1 tsp. almond extract

Third Layer:
¼ c. butter, softened
1½ c. powdered sugar
1½ Tbsp milk
1 tsp. almond extract

Directions:

First Layer:
Mix all ingredients together and pat into a greased 9x13 pan.
Bake at 350ºF for 15 minutes until barely golden brown.

Second Layer:
Add the eggs last. Beat until creamy, pour over first layer immediately after removing from oven.
Bake at 350ºF for another 15 minutes.
Let cool.

Third Layer:
Mix until smooth and spread over bars after they are cool. Chill.

Store in refrigerator.

I recommend sifting the powdered sugar in the frosting layer to make sure it's really smooth.
