1 TBSP YEAST
1 CUP WARM WATER (115º)
2 TBSP SHORTENING
3 CUPS FLOUR
¼ TSP SALT

Directions:
Directions:
Heat water to very warm and add shortening to melt. Water and shortening should be 115º when added to flour and yeast. In a large bowl, add water to 1 cup flour, whisk and let rest 10 minutes. Add remaining flour ¼ cup at a time. Turn out onto floured board and knead until smooth and elastic. Lightly oil bowl, place dough in bowl, turn to coat with oil and flip. Cover with cloth and let rise in warm place until doubled in volume. Meanwhile, prepare pizza toppings.

Preheat oven to 400º. Divide dough in half and spread onto pizza pans, or use all of the dough for a large thick crust pizza. Cover with sauce and desired toppings. Bake for 20 or until crust is golden brown.
