10-ounce bag of shredded cabbage and then adjusted the seasonings accordingly. That yield should serve 4 people.)
3 pounds cabbage, shredded
2 onions, chopped
1 green pepper chopped or sliced
1 cup vinegar
1 cup safflower oil (Ann’s Note: you can substitute corn or canola oil)
1 tablespoon celery seed
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar

In a saucepan, combined vinegar, oil, celery seed and salt; bring to a boil. Stir in the sugar. (Ann’s Note: the recipe doesn’t say but you should remove the mixture once it boils, then add the sugar and keep it off the stove – it’s done!). Combined cabbage, onion and green pepper in a bowl. Pour dressing over and refrigerate up to 3 weeks if necessary.
