Ingredients: 1 lb of 85 to 90 % lean beef One package of lettuce or one head of lettuce 1-2 tomatoes depending on size 1 cucumber shredded cheese of choosing mustard ketchup relish (optional) homemade ranch dressing (see below) croutons 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup mayo 1/4 cup milk seasonings of onion powder, dill, and thyme

Directions:Put together the salad (make individual bowls) Add shredded cheese and croutons on top Sauté the ground beef Add the cooked ground beef to the salad Top with drizzle - mustard, ketchup, and ranch
To make ranch: Combine sour cream, mayo, and milk with seasonings to taste and food process them.
Top the whole thing with the homemade ranch dressing.
Preparation time 30 minutes. About three servings. |

Notes: This one was a go-to for me and my daughter, Andrea, several times during our quarantine. It was just a great way to get a burger in without it feeling heavy or too much.
We enjoyed the ranch, but we also have a "special sauce" we use for burgers (on a salad or on a roll).
Our special sauce includes the following: mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, and onion powder. It truly is SPECIAL!!
Give that a try sometime instead of the ranch - mix it up! We often did during our pandemic cooking times. Enjoy!
