Batter:
1 stick butter
1/2 cup shortening
4 T cocoa
1 cup water
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 txp. baking soda


Icing:
1 stick butter
4 T cocoa
6 T milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and shortening in saucepan. Add cocoa and water. Bring to boil and pour over flour and sugar mixture. Mix well and add eggs, buttermilk vanilla, and baking soda. Pour into jelly roll pan or cookie sheet. Bake 350º for 25 minutes.

Icing:
In saucepan, melt butter, cocoa, and milk. Boil one minute and take off fire and add vanilla. Pour over 1 box confectioners sugar. Frost cake while both are hot. Sprinkle with pecan, if desired.
