4 cups thinly sliced apples
1 - 1 1/2 cups sugar (according to apple tartness - Grandma Kay uses 1 cup for Jonathan's')
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. butter

Directions:

Mix dry ingredients.

Layer slices apples and dry ingredients. Dot with butter. Moisten top crust with water and sprinkle lightly with sugar.

Put 1" strips of foil around edges.

Bake @ 350 for 30 - 45 min. or until desired brownness
