½ cup coarsely chopped carrots
½ cup butter (1 stick)
3 cups leeks, cut into half inch pieces
2 cups shredded cabbage
2 quarts chicken stock
5 Tbsp flour
2 cups potatoes, cut into ½ inch cubes
½ tsp marjoram
2 cups Polish kielbasa, skinned and thinly sliced (¾ pound)
salt and white pepper to taste
minced parsley (garnish)
minced fresh dill (garnish)

Directions:
Directions:
In a large kettle or Dutch oven, saute carrots in ½ stick of butter until softened. Add leeks and cabbage and saute 3 minutes. Stir in chicken stock, bring to a boil and simmer 15 minutes.

In a separate skillet, melt remaining ¼ cup butter. Add flour and stir constantly over low heat 3 minutes.

Remove skillet from heat and whisk in 2 cups hot stock. Return to kettle, stirring continuously. Add potatoes and marjoram and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in kielbasa and simmer 15 minutes, or until vegetables are tender. Add salt and pepper to taste. Garnish each serving with minced parsley and dill.
