1 Cup plain yellow cornmeal
1 Cup flour
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon pepper
2 Large eggs
1/4 Cup buttermilk
2 Large green tomatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Vegetable oil depth of 1/4" in skillet. Heat over medium high heat. Combine cornmeal and next three ingredients in bowl. Combine eggs and buttermilk in another bowl. Peel tomatoes with veggie peeler and cut 1/2" thick slices. Put in cornmeal mixture and press to adhere. Dip in egg and buttermilk and back into cornmeal mixture and press again. Fry in hot oil for 30 minutes each side. Drain on wire rack and serve hot.
