Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 (8 ounce) package pitted dates
4 ounces almonds
1 pound sliced bacon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the broiler.

Slit dates. Place one almond inside each date. Wrap dates with bacon, using toothpicks to hold them together. I like to slice each slice of bacon in half crosswise so that the shorter strips will manage more dates.

Broil 10 minutes, or until bacon is evenly brown and crisp.

Personal Notes:
These are great for a party, as you can stuff the dates with almonds well in advance and then add the bacon and broil quickly whenever you are wanting to serve. This also makes it an easy recipe to scale up.

The broiling process can be a bit tricky to get the hang of, but they don't need long, just long enough to cook the bacon. Just watch them the first tray or two to make sure they aren't burnt.
