3/4 c B. sugar
1 T B.P.
2 t cinnamon
1/4 t each cloves and nutmeg
1 t soda
1/4 t salt
1 c sour milk or buttermilk
1/4 c honey (dark corn syrup may be used)
1 egg

Directions:

Mix the dry ingredients. Add the liquids and blend well.

Bake in well-greased loaf pan in a moderate oven 45-60 minutes.

This is a very popular bread although slightly different recipes are used, and is known by various names as: Honey Kuchen, Breakfast Kuchen, Cut Kuchen, and a few others. It can be cut like bread and eaten with butter.
