Pastry for 2-crust pie.

Enough apples for a well-filled pie, preferably a mix of cortland & macs.
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. butter

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare apples by washing, paring and coring. Cut in thin slices and fill pastry lined pie plate.

Mix all dry ingredients and sprinkle over apples. Dot top of apple filling with butter.

Lay top pastry over apples and bring lower pastry together and flute edges.

Bake at 425º for 40 mins. Reduce heat to 325º for an additional 20 mins.
