2 c shortening
4 c flour
3/4 c sugar
1 cake yeast
1 T sherry
1 T rose water
8 eggs
2 T caraway seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Work the shortening into 2 c of the flour and the sugar. Add the remaining ingredients (except the caraway seeds) to a bowl and mix. Let rise for 2 hours. Add flour shortening mixture and half the caraway seeds, and mix into a smooth elastic dough.

Scoop large portions onto a baking sheet and sprinkle with remaining caraway seeds.

Let rise for another 30 minutes. Bake in a moderately hot oven for 20-30 minutes.
