Peach Cobbler Recipe

1 c sugar
4 T butter
1-1/2 c sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder

1/2 c milk
6-8 sliced peaches
3 T lemon juice
2/3 c sugar
2/3 c boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together first 4 ingredients until crumbly. Add milk to make batter, not making it too thin.

Place peaches in bottom of 8 X 8 baking dish and sprinkle lemon juice on peaches. Pour batter over peaches and pour 2/3 c sugar on top of batter. Pour 2/3 c boiling water over all.

Bake at 350º for 40 min or until peaches are cooked.
