1-16-18 ounce round Italian or sourdough bread
1/4 cup melted butter
1 tsp ranch dressing mix
1/2 cup (5 slices) cooked chopped thick bacon
1/4 cup jarred jalapeño peppers, chopped (if desired)
10 slices American cheese
2 tsp chopped parsley (if desired)

Directions:

Heat oven to 350º
Place two (24 inch) pieces of aluminum foil, crossing one over the other, on flat surface
Cut (score) bread, with serrated knife, in grid pattern, spacing 1 inch between rows, do not cut through crust, set aside
Combine melted butter and dressing mix in medium bowl
Add all remaining ingredients except parsley, mix well
Place loaf in centre of aluminum foil. Spoon cheese mixture into slits in bread.
Wrap foil around bread. Sprinkle with parsley
Bake 30 minutes. Pull back foil, continue baking 5-10 minutes or until golden brown
Serve immediately, pull out individual pieces of bread with tongs or two forks and reaching down into loaf to include filling and bread.
