Ingredients:  
2 sticks butter
1 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, vanilla and egg.
Add flour, soda and salt. When all mixed, add 2 tbsp milk.If it seems too creamy, add some extra flour when rolling out cookies. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degree for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen cookies depending on size,

This recipe was from my mother. I haven't made roll out cookies for years but my cousins swear by this recipe.
