1 yeast cake
3 eggs
Flour
2 ½ inches shortening
White sugar

Directions:
Take 1 yeast cake, pour warm water over yeast cake and let sit for 10 minutes. Put 3 eggs in the above mixture and stir. Add flour (enough to make it VERY thick). Let rise— stir and let it rise again. With a large spoon, drop batter into pot of hot shortening (about 2½ inches of shortening). When golden brown take out and put on a platter and sprinkle with plain sugar.
