2 C. shortening (½ Oleo ½ Crisco) 2 C. white sugar 1 C. brown sugar 2 eggs 3 C. quick oatmeal 2 tsp. vanilla (can use coconut flavoring) 3 C. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. salt ¾ C. nuts
1. Cream together shortening and sugars. Add beaten eggs. 2. Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Add oatmeal, vanilla, and nuts. 3. Chill 1 hour. Form into balls, place on greased cookie sheets and press with a buttered glass dipped in sugar. 4. Bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes.
